Our pastors are available, as scheduling permits. Our pastors are also available to conduct wedding ceremonies at other locations.

 JOHN ANDERSON

John Anderson came to St. John's in 1992, after serving in youth ministries, pastorates in Minneapolis, and as chaplain in a Scottish boarding school. He pursued his Doctor of Ministry focusing on the need within our success-driven culture for adults to use playful expressions (as do children). John and Nancy McEvers Anderson have been married since 1973 and have three grown sons. John enjoys cycling, skiing, historical novels and film.

 THERESA CHO

Theresa Cho is a Reno, Nevada native who graduated from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. Before coming to St. John’s in 2003, she completed a full-year chaplain residency program at UCSF Medical Center, where she provided pastoral and spiritual care to staff, patients, and family. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, InHo Kim, their children, Ian and Isabella, and their dog, Chewy.

 PREPARATION

Each couple being married at St. John’s by one of our pastors must participate in at least 3 one-hour marriage preparation sessions. The Prepare Inventory, at a cost of $35 per couple, is used to explore relationship issues. These meetings are not used to determine your suitability or compatibility for marriage, those determinations are yours. Marriage preparation with the pastor is to assist both of you in being even more clear and prepared in making this important commitment. You will also discuss the ceremony. Marriage preparation should take place as soon as possible.

 GUEST MINISTERS

Other ministers, who are duly ordained in a Christian denomination, are welcome to conduct weddings with the prior approval of St. John’s. For interfaith ceremonies, our clergy are available to work closely with clergy of other faiths to create a meaningful co-celebration ceremony.
