MUSIC AT ST. JOHN'S
St. John’s requires that you use our musicians if you would like to use the organ or piano. Please contact our organist/pianist if you would like them to perform at your wedding. In the event that they are unavailable, you are welcome to use a guest organist or pianist with pre-approval from our musicians, or we will gladly recommend an organist or pianist.
Other types of musicians may be used. We welcome the use of guitar, harp, flute or a small chamber ensemble. Please see our list of vendors for recommendations.
St. John’s has many gifted musicians. It is your responsibility to make all arrangements with the musician(s) directly. If you wish to play music that is not in the church library, it will be necessary for you to provide the sheet music at lease two weeks prior to the wedding.
CHORAL DIRECTOR
 Mezzo-soprano Karen Carle Irwin grew up in Stockton, California, and graduated from Pacific Union College with a degree in Music Education, and obtained a Master's Degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music in Vocal Performance. Karen has sung leading and supporting roles with many Bay Area opera companies. Currently Karen is a professional member of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. She teaches privately in her home where she lives with her husband, Jim, and stepson, Kent.

ORGANIST
 Cyril Deaconoff, born in Moscow, Russia, attended Gnesine State Music College and graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Composition and Choral Conducting). In December 2006, he completed his doctoral degree in Choral Conducting at Indiana University, Bloomington, where he also studied composition and organ. As an organist, Cyril worked in several churches in Indiana. He also taught at Carroll College, Wisconsin, and Indiana University.

OPPORTUNITIES TO HEAR THE ORGAN
- Attend morning worship at 10 a.m.
- Make prior arrangements to attend a wedding to hear possible organ music for your own wedding.
SINGERS
Professional singers who are employed by St. John’s are available to sing at weddings. Their names and phone numbers are available upon request. All arrangements must be made directly.
